Born in The Hague, Netherlands.

1939-1942 |
|
Studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague. Takes courses in painting, drawing, and graphic design. Begins writing poetry.

1950 |
|
Begins teaching drawing at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and continues through 1965.
|
|
1954 |
|
Publishes his poetry for the first time.
|
|
1959 |
|
Acquires a Praktiflex camera, a small-format single lens reflex camera. |

1960s |
|
Photographs and experiments with montage and various printing techniques. His confrontational approach was tactful and delicate, often capturing candid poses and intimate moments between him and his subjects. Creates his best known images of women.

1970s |
|
Receives recognition and is exhibited in museums throughout Holland. Publishes more of his poetry. Brings photographing and printing to an end in the last years of the decade.

1980s |
|
Works with images produced in the 60s and 70s and begins randomly signing and stamping the front of the final printed images, a trademark to his work.

1992 |
|
Receives the Ouborg Award, (named after the artist Pieter Ouborg (1893-1956) from The Hague) a municipal award for visual artists.

2004 |
|
For his 80th birthday celebration, The Hague Museum of Photography holds a retrospective of Fieret’s photographic collection. This is the first major retrospective of his work. |
