Professional Experience:


1987- present
Chair of the M.F.A. Program in Photography Video and Related Media at School of Visual Arts in New York City, a department which he founded and developed. In this function, implemented an early integration of digital technology into the photography program. 
1988- present
President of the Aaron Siskind Foundation.
2001
Co-founded Here Is New York, a Democracy of Photographs which won the Brendan Gill Award of the Municipal Arts Society, Cornell Capa Infinity Award, and a Distinguished Service Award from the Children’s Aid Society of New York.
1982- 1990
Worked with Fortune 500 companies, designers, and national and international publications as a Partner at Wayfarer Photography in New York.
1977- 1980
As director of Light Gallery of New York, conceived innovative exhibitions which expanded public and media awareness of the photographic medium.
1976
Founded Chicago Center for Contemporary Photography-
1971- 1977
Served as Professor and Chairperson at Columbia College in Chicago. Along with Cornell Capa, began the Contemporary Trends in Photography lecture series.
